Twat Boutique
When Dalston Superstore opened in East London, they gave me the Thursday slot to start a club night & have the best time. It was good timing & it worked. It was called Twat Boutique.
The launch party was a couple of friends, my muso pal Kerry, plus Nate from Passion Pit creating bass-laden synth lines LIVE, like a dark synth-wizard. It managed to attract a few girls, & they were HOT. But V. importantly, the photographer Holly Falconer was in attendance & captured it. After this, the club night was packed full of everyone.
Twat Boutique found its crowd, with 5 years of Dalston Superstore nights, big warehouse parties, collaborations & photography exhibitions; followed by occasional spin off parties / local raves, with photography by the mega talented Justinas Vilutis.
In 2019, the club night was brought back for one last party, exiting in style after 10 years, with Romy XX, Dream Wife, Maya Postepski, Gal-Dem, Gravy Records + the A-Team residents at the Southbank Centre.
Twat Boutique played iconic pop, bangerz, 80s, post punk, dance-y, techno-y, dark electronic music, with decent guest DJs + live acts, including:
The Kills, The Horrors, Factory Floor, Austra, Peaches, Crystal Fighters, TR/ST, Elastica, Georgia, Gossip, Zebra Katz, Kelly Lee Owens, Kim Ann Foxman, La Roux, Ms Dynamite (..TEE-HEE), Marika Hackman, Planningtorock, Starsmith, Honey Dijon, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs + many more!
